SCOPE OF POSITION:
Reporting to the Director of Engineering and Research & Development, the Engineering Technician maintains the product documentation associated with pre-engineered designs and assists with technical documentation associated with product development and new product launches.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage the company’s library of 3D models and drawings for pre-engineered products, ensuring content is current and available as needed.
- Creates, reviews, and updates other documentation including but not limited to specifications, installation instructions, and design guides for pre-engineered products based on feedback from product development engineers.
- Creates, reviews and updates website AutoCAD drawings based on engineering specifications.
- Contributes to documentation development system including but not limited to drafting, document control, production, and research and development.
- Prepare documentation and make recommendations to the innovation team for continuous improvement.
- Work collaboratively and safely with colleagues in cross-functional roles and departments for related projects.
- Other related duties, as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
Education: College diploma in architecture or construction or a similar field.
- Knowledge of and experience using parametric 2D and 3D CAD and drafting, SolidEdge preferred.
- Experience maintaining technical/professional expertise in the latest CAD technology and drawing standards.
- Experience organizing and reviewing research testing and documentation
- Experience preparing written reports and documentation for management reviews
- Experience organizing a library or technical resources for department access.
- Experience developing standard operating procedures and related documentation with updates, as needed.
- Experience with sheet metal fabrication and design is preferred.
- Experience using Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel, Visual Basics, JavaScript and PDF form creation

WORK CONDITIONS:
- This role is full-time on-site based on operational requirements.
- The work environment is in a manufacturing plant, which may be dusty at times.
- May require evening or weekend shifts on occasion.

Annual Salary: CA$ 54,756 to CA$ 74,081
