Responsibilities
Overview
The Inside Sales Manager leads a team of Inside Sales, estimators and order writing professionals in the stile and rail door manufacturing plant.
This position provides leadership to
1) exceed Customer expectations;
2) grow and develop their employees;
3) execute the business plan; and
4) improve efficiencies through process improvement and innovation.
This role requires excellent problem solving, analytical, interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
Responsibilities
- Member of the London site Leadership Team and the Architectural Inside Sales Leadership Team
- Strong Sales Orientation
- Works with outside sales to develop a strategic sales plan
- Ensuring accuracy for quotes
- Pricing quote approvals
- Ensures close coordination with outside sales team and inside flush door sales teams
- Focused effort on increasing close rate and ensuring that orders stay within London or within Masonite
- Responsible for ensuring accuracy for orders
- Responsible for credit terms and credit limits for new and existing customers
- Work with A/R team to manage risk and resolve customer issues regarding payment and deposits
- Customer Relationship Management
- Establishes relationships and communicate with customers at various levels
- Maintains appropriate coverage and support to service our customers and exceed their expectations
- Coordination of customer training and presentations
- Responsible for negotiating with distributors on projects to secure work
- Responsible for providing pricing for all exotic and non-standard wood species and custom door elevations
- People Management
- Management of 9 direct reports in inside sales
- Accountable for the overall management of the inside sales team including recruitment, on-boarding, training & development, performance management, salary recommendations, employee relations, demonstrating leadership and modeling coaching behaviors.
- Act as focal point for customer communications through inside sales personnel, order management, order-fulfillment, back-order discrepancies, customer complaint/warranty processing, understanding business priorities
- Motivates the inside sales team to work effectively and efficiently, creating standardization within the team and sharing best practices across teams
- Leads initiatives to cultivate the growth and development of the Inside sales team through strategic planning and Customer Service excellence
- Lead and coaching for teams on change process
- People development activities
- Reporting & Communications
- Sets department targets and goals and be responsible to meet or exceed these goals
- Provides senior management with regular reports on status of performance
- Interacts with several head office departments such as: Sales Planning, Logistics, risk management, finance, IT, Purchasing, Accounting, Operations and Sales to ensure all orders can be shipped on time and complete
- Provide all material/labor costs for estimating department (example - supplier price increases etc. – our pricing is a “rolled up” price we use in our quote package)
- Administration/Customer Maintenance
- Administers company’s policies and procedures as they relate to Order Entry, Inside Sales, Logistics, Warranty and Returns
- Issues all job-specific warranties and warranty documents for customers
- Administers warranty claims, back charges for customers
- Provide report on material/labor costs for all warranty claims
- Ensures ongoing Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) compliance
- Follows all Company related safety/environmental rules and regulations
Qualifications
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Strong sales orientation
- Experience with pricing strategies
- Understanding of door construction, stile and rail knowledge an asset
- Experience with/understanding of the built environment particularly as it relates to doors.
- Anticipates customer needs accurately by leveraging the voice of the customer
- Extensive knowledge of service excellence: concepts and best practices
- Ability to foster a common vision which supports the organizations goals; perseverance necessary to focus on, and achieve long-term objectives; capability to orchestrate continuous change.
- Demonstrated ability to understand complex business issues and to provide appropriate, effective, technical solutions
- Quickly establishes and maintains creditability with customers and staff
- Proven success in building and leading teams, collaborating cross-functionally and managing diverse thinking
- Experience with MS Dynamics would be an asset.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- A minimum of 5-7 years’ experience of related experience
