Barrier Fire Lookout Hike - Friday, September 8, 2017

DHI Canada will arrange for transportation and a guide for a scenic hike to the barrier fire lookout on friday morning. The trail head is about a 15 minute drive down the valley. Easy to moderate rated out and back hike. Take switchbacks uphill on an old forestry road to a spectacular viewpoint looking south over Barrier Lake. From the viewpoint, visitors can either continue to the north side of the ridge to that Barrier Fire Lookout and a view over the Bow Valley, or descend towards Jewell Pass.

Within 2 hours’ car ride you can hike around the Emerald Lake or bike at Canmore Nordic Centre - venue holding world circuit races in nordic skiing and mountain biking.
