Teas, Neil Austin – Age 76 of Brookfield, passed away July 10, 2023 in the arms of his loving wife after being cared for at home by his family.

Neil was born in Truro, and was predeceased by his parents, Austin and Katherine Teas of South Branch, and his brother, Wayne Teas.

He is survived by his wife, of 40 years, Edythe; sons, Jeff (Kathryn) and Andy (Courtney); his daughters, Kristi (Raymond) and Ronda; his grandchildren, Jena, Ethan, Maggie, Ayden, Kayde, Sam, Liam, Michaela and Lilly; his sisters, Thelma (Bob) Morris, Judy (Gerard) Comeau; sister-in-law, Ardith Teas, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Neil’s love and devotion to his family exceeded everything. His children and grandchildren were his greatest joy, and he took pride in their accomplishments. He was an extraordinary husband, father and Papa.

Neil made many amazing friendships that he cherished and carried with him serving his community as a Kinsman for many years, participating in 4x4 rallies, golfing, fishing and hunting. Neil’s love for the outdoors kept him busy in his later years with his friends, Brian, Joel and Stan playing golf in the summer and hunting at the camp in the winter.

Neil spent 58 years in the architectural hardware industry, recently becoming a lifetime member of The Door and Hardware Institute, something he was very proud of. Neil was an essential part of the development team that created software that changed the Door and Hardware Industry. He was a devoted employee of Comsense Inc. for over 30 years.

There wasn’t a person who met Neil who didn’t instantly feel his warmth, laughter and friendship. Neil will be sadly missed by anyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

We would like to extend our love and gratitude to all Mom’s friends and neighbours that have supported her over the last few months, the Colchester Community Palliative Care Team, the staff at the Sobey’s Cancer Centre and Arimathea Funeral Cooperative for all their guidance and care.

Donations in Neil’s memory may be made to Michael J. Fox Foundation, Sobey’s Cancer Centre Lodge, Halifax or South Branch Cemetery.

There will be a funeral service on July 28, at 11 a.m., in Knox United Church, 53 Highway 289, Brookfield. A reception and burial will follow.

A special thank you to Larry Harrison and family.
