The government of Nova Scotia announced today that the province will be adopting the National Building Code of Canada (NBCC) effective April 1, 2025. The province's draft regulations implementing the change reflect the government's intention to take a tiered approach to the implementation of the NBCC along with the National Energy Code of Canada. This tiered approach applies major changes in 2025, with additional changes in 2026, 2027 and 2029.
