Consult with distributors, architects, developers and designers in relation to product knowledge and appropriate selection
What led you to the door and hardware industry?
My passion for design and providing safe solutions in the building industry.
How many years have you been in the industry?
I’ve been in the industry for five years.
What was your first job?
My first job was working for a wholesale manufacturing and distribution company. My first position was an Order Entry Clerk and within a decade I was the Business Development Manager responsible for the launch and growth of the retail channel.
What is your proudest professional moment?
My proudest professional moment was bringing my dream of owning a specialty candy store to reality; being awarded, Best Store Concept was the cherry on top!
What has been your biggest challenge?
The days when I’m travelling without GPS ????
Who do you consider a mentor or hero?
My daughter will forever be my biggest hero. Her physical and cognitive challenges did not define her. Without ever speaking a word, she reminded me to be compassionate, understanding and persevere.
What is the best advice you ever received?
Hang the door, Secure the door, Control the door, Protect the door.
What is the best advice you never received?
Everyone has a story, consider that.
What changes have you seen in the industry over recent years?
Trends in finishes and digital innovation.
What changes do you see facing our industry in the future?
Product knowledge may be harder for others to gain as tenure leave the industry.
