DHI Canada remains committed to offering in-person education for our members.

As affirmation that we're on the right path, here are some testimonials from our students:

  • DHI courses are a great initiative to build a strong foundation of the hardware industry. With such a great culture, I can visualize the new generation becoming industry leaders
  • DHI Canada's schools are the best place to learn industry practices & knowledge. I love learning from the industry experts. Great Experience.
  • My DHI Canada's in-person learning experience has always been fun and useful. It's great to get together with industry experts and colleagues to better learn about the industry and grow together.

In 2025, we offered:

  • 2 National Technical Schools

Scholarships

Our scholarships cover the cost of 5 days education for any of our courses. Two national school scholarships and five regional school scholarships were awarded in 2025. Since this program was launched in 2022, we have awarded 21 scholarships – another step toward providing education opportunities for Canadian students.

Advocacy

DHI Canada Women's Leadership Initiative

This important advocacy effort was launched in the Spring of 2025. More than 100 women have signed up to support this campaign, a LinkedIn account has been established and the culmination of this exciting new initiative was a virtual Fireside Chat in October with over 100 women participating. Three industry leaders – Elise Mayberry, Jennifer McGill and Kristi Scott, AHC, CFDAI – candidly answered questions about challenges they have faced and successes they have achieved. More to come in 2026….stay tuned.

Royal Architectural Institute of Canada (RAIC)

We joined RAIC as a corporate member. The benefits we receive are a presence on the RAIC website, an announcement in their monthly newsletter and a social media post designed to promote the value of our professional members and the important role the Canadian door and hardware industry plays in the built community. We also have the opportunity to promote our education programs and to offer a webinar to architects.

Since our advocacy program began in 2023, we have increased our LinkedIn followers to over 800 and our X followers to over 400, honoured Women In Construction, supported many industry awareness events and heightened awareness of the important role the Canadian door and hardware industry plays in the built community to keep the public safe. Let's keep it going – send us your ideas.

Canadian Corporate Associate Membership

DHI Canada launched an exciting new opportunity for Canadian distributors and manufacturers – a Canadian Corporate Associate Member category. This is the first time we have offered our own membership to support the needs of and opportunities for the Canada door and hardware industry. There are programs that our specific to Canadian members and we are committed to moving in the direction to support and expand these programs.

Thanks to these companies that have supported this initiative. Through their support, DHI Canada will continue to serve the Canadian door and hardware industry. We encourage you to consider this opportunity.

The fee for this program is $500.00 per year.  Click here for complete details.

A Look Ahead

Canadian Codes Online

We're excited to offer members the opportunity to take the Canadian Codes course in a self-study online format. No expense has been spared to ensure the quality, professionalism and outcomes are in place to guarantee students walk away with the knowledge and confidence required to meet Canadian building codes. The course will be available in the first quarter of 2026 with a registration fee of $400.00.

Canada Conference & Expo

The Hilton Lac Leamy Hotel, Ottawa/Gatineau is the place to be – October 1-3, 2026. It promises to be another stellar event and we expect a sold out Expo, a business program that focuses on the Canadian current and future business climate, organized tours and a golf tournament at one of the area's premier courses.
